Skinny Bitch Retracted

This book is not for the weak-willed. I have read a little further and discovered a whole vegan-meat-hater chapter. Vivid descriptions are given about the pesticides and hormones injected into animals and the inhumane ways they are slaughtered. They tell you everything, right down to the last DETAIL. Had I not been at the gym pedaling my fastest, I might of passed out. You know how they say some things are better simple-stupid? THIS IS IT! If you are not ready to make a major lifestyle/food change and not eat meat anymore, don't read this chapter! SKIP IT! The same goes for those of you who love dairy & eggs too!

The sad part is that I was warned myself to skip this chapter but my curiosity got the better of me. It was horrid but I couldn't put it down! I was possessed! Now I will think about those stories every time I purchase, cook or eat meat. Blah.

I see you

Because I'm that impressed...

Look at this colossal orange I bought yesterday at Wegman’s! I’ve been wowed by the size all day that I’ve showed everyone! And I had to post for you! It’s about the size of a softball (the apple it’s next to is a pretty good size apple too). I’m not really sure what to expect once I peel it!!! Skinny Bitch would be proud though because fruit is one of the best things for you! Especially oranges! Go ME! ;o)

Zumba

This is my new favorite class at the gym… not including my all-time favorite Step Class of course! Our instructor has the best energy to get us movin’ and groovin’ to the different Latin dance styles. She has us rolling our hips and shimmying up a storm! The part I love the most is when I realize I’ve left my inhibitions at the door and my hips start rolling up a storm! You can really get into it and have a great time! However, I now know my dream of being a contestant on Dancing With The Stars will never become a reality! LOL But I have fun trying!!

SHC Flowers!

We send these cute, budding plants to our active travel nurses at work. The employee advantage... they don't have a long shelf life before they start sprouting! We were each allowed to take one. I got to be one of the first just because I sit close to the woman's office! lol So my little guy is beginning to sprout! Yay! :o)

Bachelor Auction!

Tonight Wendy, Tera and I went to a Bachelor Auction sponsored by Buffalo Spree magazine to benefit the Susan G. Komen foundation! I was so pumped to find out the proceeds were going towards finding a cure for breast cancer! With no info whatsoever I had no idea the event was going to be as huge as it was. Everyone was dressed to impress! A full dinner buffet was provided with steak and lobster linquine, as well as some chicken selections. Cheese and fruit were provided during cocktail hour while the bachelors circulated trying to start conversations and spark interest. And there were some cuties, I won't lie!

Bachelor #2, Jeremy Daumen, a 6'2" Libra who enjoys sports, being outdoors and just relaxing, went for $1800! Of course he brought pink roses with him that he walked around and handed out during the cocktail hour. Smart boy.

Bachelor #6, Joe Higgins, a 60 year old Aquarius who works out 5 days a week claims, "He never wants to have a fat belly" went for a surprising $1200! Of course he did hand out blink heart necklaces to most of the ladies in the room... see above picture!

The two guys in the last picture are Buffalo Sabres Derek Roy (Bachelor #19) who brought along his teammate Chris. The PAIR of them went for $1800! There were a few other bids that came even close to that amount. I believe the lowest was $350. I kept track in the program and altogether the bids brought in $17,350!! And $800 of that amount came from a last minute addition from the crowd! Drunken bachelor 18.5! hahaha

Those are the few that stood out the most of but I did provide a list below of tidbits! :o)

Bachelor #1 - $700
Bachelor #2 - $1800 --> He juggled on stage too!

Runway Tunnel

This is the only location that I know of where a road leads UNDER an airport runway. I've never had the experience, but people say it's the coolest when a plane is landing! Pretty awesome if you ask me! When you're coming into Buffalo on the 90, if look to the left right after you pass the runway lights and you will see this tunnel!!

Alumni Weekend

I made my annual trip to St. Bonaventure this past weekend!! Tera White drove us down on Saturday to spend the night and party! We ran into some old friends but ended up making a lot of new ones... Thanks to the older gentlemen of '95! LOL I must admit that their group were the biggest Bonaventure supporters EVER. Minus the Rugby Alumni. They buy pretty girls CASES of beer! :o)

However, I have discovered that I am now too old to handle the crowd of my favorite hot spot, the OP. Once upon a time I would be in the middle of the madness dancing up a storm. But alas, I now choose to stand on the sidelines trying not to get elbowed and drinks spilled on me! Oh how the years change!

Slacker

I know I haven't been blogging lately, I'm sorry! The birthday girl is a huge blogging slacker lately!!! Speaking of which, I'm convinced Wendy is hording my birthday cards from the mail because I haven't gotten one yet!! Hahaha!

Things have been great for me lately. I have a fabulous city life that I love, a bunch of great friends up here and I could not want for anything! KNOCK ON WOOD! I've been working out regularly plus eating well. I'm starting to see changes, so it has only propelled me to keep going and stay on track!

I will post again soon, I promise! :o)
