Random Thursday Evening

Thursday was pretty uneventful for me. After work I made a stop at the library to look for a book my mom recommended, "The Book of Unforgettable Journeys" but alas it's brand new and they do not have a copy yet. I also used a computer to go a little myspacing. The only downside was getting the SLOWEST computer on earth and having to sit next to a 14 year old that looked like she was 17 with boobs all over the place. She proceeded to tell her friend about every guy she wanted to have sex with and what she wanted to do to them. It just made me want to puke all over her! hahaha

When I got home Wendy's friend Sam was over. Yes those are his feet below rocking the ever hideous socks & sandals motif.

While he watched CSI, Wendy and I played a couple of games of Sorry Card Revenge!! This game is completely awesome and I recommend it to any and every one! My mom bought it for me a year or two ago for Christmas, and she was so excited about it, she gave it to me a few weeks early so we could play!

The enemy of the game is definitely the big red pawn! Instead of taking cards from the pile, you must hit the red pawn and take the amount of cards he tells you. He can tell you anywhere between 1 - 9 cards. Or it may even tell you play any card. It's a lot of fun!

In other news I have something very exciting to report!! It took all summer, a lot of water and TLC, but I have blossoms AND little green tomatoes on my plant!! WOOHOO!! We might actually get a few tomatoes to eat before the first frost!

And my mum is in full swing right now and looking beautiful in the fall color I chose!

And in the category of plants, I want to show you all the beautiful Hydrangea's my mom sent me home with Tuesday morning. Isn't she so good to me!? I love flowers, especially ones likes these that last and last!

Now what is better to do on an uneventful Thursday night than take random pictures for my blog! So why not try and take pictures of us looking ghetto!! HAHAHA!! Being bored and in a crazy mood produced the next set of... unexplainable pictures!

HAHAHA!!! I can't be held responsible for these pictures! After that was done and we had calmed down from laughing hysterically, Wendy's brother stopped over. She hasn't seen him in over a year as he just came home from Iraq. This was the last picture of the evening, as the Yankees game consumed all my attention for the rest of the night!

Tuesday Evening

I love bombing around the city! After work I went to the City of Tonawanda Library. It's a nice, large building with adequate parking and tons of computers! It's my only computer access outside of work.

When I got home Wendy had made dinner for herself, her sister-in-law and 10 month of neice. She saved me a bowl and even picked out all the peppers and onions for me! What a great roomie!!

After dinner was devoured it was time for Dancing With the Stars!! I can't tell you how much I love this show and how excited I get watching the dancers!! I'm practically on the edge of my seat the whole time with a big shit grin on my face! hahaha! Watching the dances is definitely a natural high! Which is good, because I feel like people don't take enough time to enjoy things like that these days.

So I was a happy little clam last night!

Clarence Market

I just love working at the Clarence Market every Saturday morning with Karen! It stinks have to get up early on a Saturday, but it's worth it. This week we had no peaches, just apples, cider, pears and prunes!

Yesterday was my annual evaluation at work. I first had to go through about 75 categories and rate myself from "exceeds expectations, meets requirements, needs improvement and unsatisfactory." Then we had to sit down with our manager Carrie and go through the same evaluation that she did and compare and contrast. We had the same answers for all but three! And the two of the three she had bumped up from what I had rated myself! I know, awesome, right?

In addition to that, in the comments section, Carrie wrote that I have a great attitude, always pleasant, always willing to help out. Another comment she made was that I handle conflict resolution well and she feels I have strong leadership skills and could go far in the company.

WOOHOO!! GO ME! :o) My evaluation made me very happy as I love positive reinforcement and constructive criticism. I would like to exceed in my position as well as the company. Supplemental has a positive employee atmosphere that is constantly reinforced with excellence and "good jobs." My goal from this point forward is to continue building my nurse business and move into a management position where I can have a team below me where I can instill the same great values.

What a good decision I made to take a leap of faith and try something new! :o) Today is a good day!!

Fall is coming!

I can feel the crispness of Fall in the morning air! Fall is my favorite season! The leaves change to beautiful reds, yellows and golds. Pumpkins become a decorating staple and kitchens smell of chilis and pies! The weather becomes cold enough to wear jeans and sweatshirts again! Mind you, I love the hot, sticky summers, but I love snuggling up under a blanket while the weather is chilly outside!

In the tradition of Fall apple season, I made my first apple pie this pass Sunday!

I have to thank Karen Watt for making this pie possible!! With out her generousity to give me all the fresh fruit I can carry, I would not have the means to bake such fabulous goods!!

This picture was taken of Karen and myself on Saturday morning, selling fruit at the Clarence Farm Market in the cold! We have been pushing our Breast Cancer walk in the the last few weeks, and even dressing in matching attire! If you look to the right, you can see our pink donation jug... which has already help us collect $100!!

Don't forget that you too can make a donation! Remember, no matter how big or small, every little bit helps!

Alcohol Superstore!

Last night I discovered another reason why I love Buffalo, Premier Liquor! You should have seen this place! IT WAS HUGE!!! There was aisle after aisle of wine and a large selection of everything!!! Pretty much whatever you could think of, they have it! I was ecstatic because they had a large section of Finger Lakes Wineries! I got myself a nice bottle of Dr. Frank’s Semi-Dry Riesling. I have wanted a bottle ever since we went there on our wine tour last summer.

I even got to sign up for a discount card! They told me it was like a Tops card, and even gave me one for my key chain! It was great!! I love the city!!

Of course when I got home I had a nice, flavorful glass of wine! :o)

It's that time of year again!!

The third annual Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk is right around the corner! October 14th is our walk date and hopefully another October surprise storm won't come along the same weekend! I look forward to you all participating again, as this is a cause very dear to my heart.

I hope you will support my efforts by making a donation using my personal online fundraising page. It's safe and simple. All you have to do is click the link below and follow the few easy steps. Last year, 450,000 Making Strides participants raised $45 million ... and they did it one donation at a time. So, whether you're able to give $5 or $500, every bit truly does help.

Hope starts one dollar at a time. Hope starts with me. And hope can start with you. Thank you in advance for any support you may be able to offer.

Free Entertainment!

The view from our deck looks out on the backside of large brick apartment buildings and each building has its own fire escape that doubles as a back entrance for each apartment.

Well yesterday we were blessed with free entertainment, as a group of 3 people tried to move a VERY large couch up and around the curves of the fire escape!!

I couldn't help but wonder if these people could see my flash going off repeatedly to capture their predictament. Hey it was great for me!!

After I was distracted by walking into the house for a brief minute or so, I walked back outside and they were done! No couch, no sign of any
